Sonal Singh is the CEO of Maitri India, where she provides strategic and organisational leadership to programmes that uphold the dignity, rights, and well-being of vulnerable and marginalised communities. Since joining Maitri in 2007, she has helped the organisation expand its reach across key areas including primary and specialised healthcare, violence against women, citizenship rights, migrant worker support, abandoned and destitute widows, and underprivileged children.
Under her leadership, Maitri has continued to work from its core values of Identity, Respect, and Dignity, reaching more than 100,000 beneficiaries through community-based, rights-oriented, and dignity-led interventions. Sonal brings to Maitri a strong systems perspective, combining nonprofit leadership, programme management, advocacy, and human development to strengthen both impact and organisational sustainability.
Alongside her role at Maitri, Sonal is India’s first trained and certified ADHD Coach, an ICF Professional Certified Coach, Executive Coach, and Systemic Team Coach. Her work in coaching deepens her approach to leadership at Maitri, bringing a lens of inclusion, emotional safety, neurodiversity, dignity, and strengths-based development into the way individuals, families, teams, and communities are understood and supported.
Sonal holds a Bachelor’s degree in Finance from the University of Utah and a Master’s degree in Business Administration from Thunderbird School of Global Management. Before Maitri, she worked as a business journalist with Dow Jones Newswires in New Delhi and as a consultant with Hewitt Associates.
She is an avid reader and writer, and remains deeply interested in the intersection of social justice, identity, leadership, systems change, and human potential.
